TECMET Selects Epicor
IRVINE, Calif. and MEXICO, D.F. (June 16, 2008) – Epicor Software Corporation
(NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of enterprise business software solutions for the
midmarket and divisions of Global 1000 companies, today announced that TecnologÃa Metálica
en Maquila Industrial (TECMET), a Mexican company dedicated to the industrial production of
stainless steel, has selected Epicor’s manufacturing enterprise resource planning (ERP)
solution to automate its business processes.
“Striving to improve order and project control inside the company, it was important that
we select a solution that would comply with all our requirements,” said Humberto Quintanilla,
CEO of TECMET, located in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Previously, TECMET did not utilize a processes automation system. “Since last year we
knew that we needed a software tool that would let us take absolute control of all our projects,
and enable us to improve our efficiency in costs, and time to fulfill delivery deadlines,”
Quintanilla added.
“We were looking for a robust solution with proven experience in the make-to-order
manufacturing industry, and in January 2008 we selected the Epicor solution,” he said.
“TECMET is a perfect example of how Epicor solutions can assist medium-size
companies to accelerate their growth and improve efficiencies in order to compete in the global
economy,” said Gonzalo Nuñez, director of Technology Coast Partner, master distributor of
Epicor Manufacturing solutions in Latin America.
The Epicor solution, built on a true service-oriented architecture (SOA) using Microsoft
.NET and Web services, is optimized for high performance and collaboration throughout the
supply chain. Epicor’s comprehensive solution suite enables manufacturers to manage the
entire order cycle: from Marketing and Sales, through Production and Planning, Sourcing and Procurement, Installation and Service, and finally to Financial recognition. Epicor empowers
organizations to synchronize and integrate business operations to achieve greater business
agility and maximum efficiency.
