SINGAPORE (May 11, 2010) –
Lawson Software announced that Wilcon Builders Depot in the Philippines has gone live on the Lawson M3 Enterprise Management System. The company is now using Lawson Supply Chain Management, Enterprise Financial Management, Manufacturing Operations and Enterprise Asset Management suites along with other applications in the Lawson M3 system.
With more than three decades of expertise in the construction industry as the one-stop retail shop, Wilcon Builders Depot has grown to be a household name renowned for convenient airconditioned stores, delivery service and commitment to excellent service. Today, Wilcon Builders Depot has a total of 25 stores ranging from mall-based, medium and large format stores across strategic locations in the Philippines. Wilcon Builders Depot decided to implement Lawson M3 Enterprise solutions to further support expansion plans of opening an average four
stores annually.
“Wilcon was previously running on locally programmed software that could not keep up with the volume of transactions and sites as we grew. Therefore to support the larger scale of operation, we had decided to invest in the Lawson M3 system,” said Lorraine Belo, vice-president of retail operations for Wilcon.
“Over the last thirty years, Wilcon Builders Depot has become the pioneer and leader in supplying finishing materials for the building industry in Philippines. To be able to help support this growth in future is definitely something we look forward to,” said David Hope, general manager and regional managing director for Lawson Asia Pacific & Japan.
With such a complex ever-expanding environment, Lawson M3 Supply Chain Management provides more clarity on Wilcon Builders Depot’s flow of material by helping manage the planning, scheduling, procurement and fulfillment processes. The Lawson M3 Enterprise Asset Management suite supports improved utilization of physical assets across their life cycle. Comprehensive maintenance management functionality helps manage asset performance and costing, customer order processing as well as the vehicle operations across multiple sites.
“The implementation of the Lawson system taught our staff about doing things in systematic ways which is a vast improvement from the previous system that has been causing us auditing issues in terms of figures and data,” said Lorraine Belo, vice-president of retail operations, for Wilcon Builders Depot. “We do see the benefits of adopting Lawson; it’s a system that can accommodate high volumes and rich in functionality for organizations with complex supply chain like ours. It’s in-line with our growth plans and activities that we could not imagine performing in the past like specific sales and promotions are now easy to manage with the Lawson M3 software.”
With the first five stores up and running with the Lawson M3 system, Wilcon Builders Depot is now moving to implement the system in all 20 of its locations in the Philippines.
