LIGHTBLOCKS Selects Epicor

Innovative Creator of Unique Acrylic Finishes Chooses Epicor to Enhance Manufacturing Operations

CHICAGO (September 10, 2008) – Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of
enterprise business software solutions for the midmarket and divisions of Global 1000
companies, today announced at IMTS 2008 that LIGHTBLOCKS has selected Epicor
Manufacturing software to support the company’s continued growth and increase efficiency
across a truly unique manufacturing process. LIGHTBLOCKS’s implementation of Epicor marks
the first enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution used to create the Company’s distinct, light
transmitting acrylic for architectural design finishes.
First created in 1999 by public artist and design studio owner Mary Boone Wellington,
LIGHTBLOCKS are patented, durable and amazingly adaptable light transmitting panels. From
partitions to ceilings, furniture, doors, lighting fixtures, flooring, sculpture and public art,
LIGHTBLOCKS support limitless imaginative architectural uses. Today, LIGHTBLOCKS
designs, sustainably manufactures and distributes their innovative, custom product to clients
spanning all types of industry including Bank of America, Saks Fifth Avenue, Random House,
Nasdaq, NBA, IBM and Warner Brothers Studio.
“Our company roots are in public art–we create a different, custom product nearly
every time,” explained Ken Bush, chief financial officer at LIGHTBLOCKS. “It was important that
we find an ERP system that allows us to break out of the mold of widgets and standard, repeat
processes. Epicor’s product configurator offers us some pretty complex options in its ability to
customize to our needs.”

Epicor Manufacturing is a comprehensive solution portfolio that enables organizations to
plan, schedule, execute and monitor the entire manufacturing business. From raw materials to
final product, financial management to supply chain management (SCM), Epicor Manufacturing
solutions provide the greatest level of flexibility and agility possible. Built on a true serviceoriented
architecture (SOA) using Microsoft .NET and Web services, Epicor Manufacturing
enables continuous performance and lean initiatives, real-time connectivity between supplychain
applications and partners, and greater business agility.
“Epicor is proud to support Mary Boone Wellington’s commitment to sustainability and
efficiency in the extraordinary process of creating LIGHTBLOCKS,” said Rod Winger, senior
director of product marketing for Epicor’s manufacturing and supply chain management
solutions. “Epicor Manufacturing will enable LIGHTBLOCKS to drive lean business practices in
their continued transcendence of art and architecture.”
In addition to core functionality, LIGHTBLOCKS plans to take advantage of Epicor’s
customer relationship management (CRM) module. Epicor’s contact management, marketing,
sales and helpdesk tools will allow greater visibility and insight into an intricate sales and
support environment.
“CRM is a large focus here,” explained Michael Samborn, vice president of sales with
LIGHTBLOCKS. “We have customers who purchase set products, others who send unique
product specifications and some who combine the two. The process varies to the customer’s
needs. Epicor will allow connectivity between our different customer databases in real time.”
