Lend Lease Takes Outsourcing Beyond 2000 in $270 Million Deal

N/A (December 14, 1998) – scale Oracle Financials application, Internet-based systems, the Year 2000 IT delivery program and the transfer of Lend Lease’s data centre to IBM Global Services Australia.
In addition to the work required within the scope of the contracts, IBM Global Services played a key role in other major IT developments such as the Internet-based financial investment service for Your Prosperity, a Lend Lease company.
IBM Global Services Australia CEO and General Manager Ed Kilroy said: “Lend Lease was one of our first major outsourcing customers and the extension of this partnership reflects the strength of our relationship with Lend Lease and the value we are able to bring to its business.”
IBM Global Services Australia standard of AD&M with Lend Lease was recognised last year when it was independently rated amongst the best in the world for its software services capability. The assessment was completed using a model developed by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) based in Carnegie Mellon University in the US. The rating, using the SEI’s Capability Maturity Model (CMM), is increasingly being used as the premier benchmarking model for software development effectiveness.
IBM Global Services Australia AD&M team at Lend Lease was assessed a level three, one of the first organisations in Australia to achieve this level, making it one of the top teams of its type in the world.
