IBM Announces Global Launch of Prepackaged, Comprehensive Management of AS/400 Servers
Midrange Express Offers Flexible Services That Evolve With Business Needs
SOMERS, N.Y (December 09, 1998) – IBM today announced the worldwide launch of Midrange Express packaged outsourcing services to help small and medium businesses with the day-to-day management, maintenance and support of AS/400® servers at a fixed, low rate.
Delivered by IBM Global Services and IBM’s Business Partners worldwide, Midrange Express offers a complete, flexible suite of services specifically designed to meet companies’ growing business needs. Midrange Express consists of a comprehensive, scaleable set of services ranging from base level to full systems management.
Base level services include monitoring, help desk support, account management and daily backups. Optional services encompass batch job management, disaster recovery services, performance and capacity planning, system software upgrades, extended hours service, user profile administration and security audit service.
Midrange Express is designed to make IBM services simple and accessible, with a single-point-of-contact service representative and a simplified and easy to understand contract. Managed services are delivered at either an IBM secure data center or via a remote link.
