IBM and NetGravity Form Strategic Technology and Co-Marketing Relationship For Online Marketing Solutions

IBM to Host NetGravity’s AdCenter; NetGravity Announces AdServer for RS/6000; IBM Plans to Use NetGravity Solution for Online Advertising

NEW YORK, NY (August 11, 1998) – .IBM, the leader in e-business solutions, and NetGravity, the leader in online marketing management solutions, today announced a wide ranging strategic co-marketing, service and technology relationship to address the growing online advertising requirements of IBM and its customers. As a result of the cooperative agreement, IBM and NetGravity will jointly offer industry-leading ad serving, ad management and ad hosting capabilities and expand the use of IBM’s RS/6000 Web server.
This relationship centers on four key areas to expand the Internet solutions IBM and NetGravity offer. The four areas are:
Co-marketing and co-selling of each company’s Internet software and services. This arrangement furthers IBM’s commitment to providing companies with the best Internet solutions.
AdCenter, NetGravity’s online marketing service bureau, to be hosted by IBM. The service offers any Web site publisher, interactive agency or merchant a way to manage and monitor an online advertising business without investing in a technical infrastructure.
AdServer software to support the RS/6000 platform and AIX operating system.
IBM plans to use NetGravity’s AdServer software to manage its own worldwide online advertising. IBM will use the software for ad serving, dynamic targeting, forecasting and reporting.

Hosting AdCenter
To aid online Web marketers in their efforts to maximize revenue, NetGravity has developed AdCenter, an outsourced service bureau for online ad management. The service provides scalable solutions that enable customers to dynamically respond to the advertising needs of their business without a major investment in technology. To ensure the reliable delivery of ads served by AdCenter, IBM is hosting the service and will provide 24/7 system monitoring.
