NetSuite Presents: The First Annual Hairball Awards
And the award goes to…
In ERP News, NetSuite hosted its first annual “Hairball†awards to honor cloud computing businesses that were able to optimize productivity, cut costs, and “cough up the hairball†of suite solutions it once used. NetSuite is a web-based business software suite that provides CRM, ecommerce and financial solutions, all in one place. NetSuite’s award ceremony included some light jabs at its competitors SAP and Great Plains, but the event was mostly a light-hearted celebration of how cloud solutions have improved a number of businesses. By moving to the cloud, the winning companies have been able to disentangle their organizations from—as NetSuite calls it, “the hairball of applications and middleware that hinders productivity and drives up costs due to brittle integration, incompatible processes, low productivity and high maintenance costs.†Thirty companies were nominated in 10 of the categories for the Hairball awards.
Here are a few of the winners:
Most Improved Productivity: KANA, an e-business solution provider, was able to untangle their hairball after 10 acquisitions with the help of NetSuite’s OneWorld. Kana reported that they were able to close their finances in one-third the amount of time and reduce their order processing by 20%.
Greatest Cost Reduction: Fresh Produce Group walked away with this nomination by turning to NetSuite’s on-demand solution. The company was able to untangle its business applications and save $1 million a year by cutting unnecessary overhead.
Most Global Solution: Jollibee stole this nomination along with the best-dressed award of the evening. Jollibee is a Filipino fast-food restaurant chain that was able to roll out NetSuite’s OneWorld solution to all 1800+ of its restaurants.
Most Applications Replaced: This award was bestowed upon MYCOM, a provider of OSS Service Assurance software. MYCOM was able to eliminate 9 applications and over 250 spreadsheets thanks to NetSuite’s on-demand solution.
Best Ecommerce Solution: Virtual Inventories took home this award because they were able to consolidate their several front and back-end solutions into one NetSuite implementation.
Congrats to all the winners!
