NetSuite Launches ERP software for Discrete Manufacturers
NetSuite, an ERP software solution provider, is stepping up their vertical strategy with an on-demand ERP software solution for discrete manufacturers. Discrete manufacturers are companies that create customizable products by assembling parts.
NetSuite’s Manufacturing ERP Edition was built with Rootstock Software on NetSuite’s platform. NetSuite had announced their partnership a while back, and the discrete manufacturing edition ERP software is the first product to emerge out of the partnership.
NetSuite will be the point of contact for sales and support, not Rootstock. Rootstock and NetSuite’s technologies have been integrated seamlessly to make users feel like their only using one product.
The discrete manufacturing ERP software was designed to cater to manufacturing company executives that have to deal with traveling to multiple plants, who need easy access to one system. Companies have the option of using a private network that funnels to an on-premise system for a consistent ERP solution. However, that approach will come with financial and logistical overhead. NetSuite’s pricing for their discrete manufacturing ERP solution will cost far less at $2,499 per month for a company-wide module.
The ERP vendor hopes to entice manufacturing companies looking to move away from their expensive legacy systems. NetSuite isn’t the only ERP software provider that plans on moving into the cloud, however. Epicor and Lawson have also made recent moves towards supporting cloud-based platforms.
This has been NetSuite’s self-described “Year of the Industry” with more announcements in vertical industry sectors than ever before. NetSuite’s interest in building up their ERP software to support vertical segments is spicing things up in the business software world. We’re interested to see what move Epicor and Lawson will counter with.
