Hooker Furniture Taps Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP

Hooker Furniture has selected the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP solution and turned to Sunrise Technologies to help with the implementation. Seeking an integrated, modern solution that would enable the company to leverage a consolidated platform for multiple operating divisions, Hooker Furniture narrowed its choice to the AV ERP solution from Microsoft Dynamics.

As one of the nation’s largest public-traded furniture companies, Hooker Furniture offers home entertainment, home office, dining and bedroom and accent furniture in price points that fall in the medium to upper medium ranges. The company has entered the residential seating market recently with new acquisitions, which created additional divisions within the company.

Hooker Furniture turned to Sunrise Technologies as a result of the company’s expertise in furniture and their extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP software product. Sunrise also offered a solid project management platform and maintains a close relationship with Microsoft. The company was also able to extend to Hooker Furniture the Sunrise Advanced Warehouse Management to help the company meet its distribution facilities.

Paul B. Toms Jr., chairman, chief executive officer and president of Hooker Furniture, shared that the company sought a partner to help with the implementation of a unified systems interface to better serve its customer base. Hooker Furniture also wanted to find the solution that would best fit its culture and organization. After conducting due diligence, Hooker Furniture determined that Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP was the best choice.

Sunrise Technologies president John Pence noted that Hooker Furniture is a great fit for Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP and Sunrise’s focus on the furniture and distribution industries are expected to make this integration successful.
