Amalie Oil Gets ERP Upgrade with Microsoft Dynamics AX
One of the nation’s largest family-owned oil companies, Amalie Oil Co., recently received an implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX Enterprise Resource Planning systems from Blue Horseshoe, a software development and solutions firm that provides expert consulting and packaged software solutions to Fortune 500 and mid-market businesses throughout the world.
Blue Horseshoe performed a complete analysis of Amalie’s business and designed a comprehensive bundle of solutions using several of its Intellectual Property products that extend the Dynamic AX functionality.
Warehousing for AX or WAX, inserts advanced warehousing functionality into Dynamics AX and eliminates the need for a separate Warehouse Management System. Transportation for AX or TRAX, provides advanced transportation planning and execution capabilities. Business Intelligence as a Service, or BIAS, provides real-time data for fulfillment invoicing, freight reconciliation and carrier performance.
In addition, the Vendor Portal integrates Amalie’s suppliers directly into its system and allows management and measurement of its vendors’ performance and streamlines the entire order to the payment process.
Vice President of Blue Horseshoe, Kevin Paul, says prior to the implementation, Amalie was using multiple systems to manage their supply chain and now 95 percent of their business runs in Dynamics AX, resulting in a much more streamlined and efficient system.
Chief Technology Officer of Amalie Oil Company, Gianni Barkett, says these solutions have truly revolutionized the way they transact business by helping to overcome significant efficiency and visibility hurdles in inbound and outbound logistics operations.
Amalie Oil Co. was founded in 1903 in Franklin, Pa. The company produces a full line of automotive, fleet, industrial and specialty lubricants, including nearly 200 different products shipped to every U.S. state and more than 70 foreign countries.
