Aldata Joins Microsoft to Produce the Updated Microsoft Dynamics AX
Today, the multinational computer technology corporation, Microsoft Corp., and Aldata, a retail business solutions company, announced their agreement to integrate their products. Aldata will provide a set of vertical applications to enhance Microsoft’s Dynamics AX for Retail software.
Aldata specializes in retail software solutions so it is ensured that their additions to Microsoft Dynamics, a line of ERP and CRM applications for businesses, will be a success. The integrated product will include Replenishment and Merchandising Optimization, Store and POS Management, and Loyalty and Digital marketing modules. The goal is to provide retailers with an all-in-one product that combines logistics, supply chain and financials with point of sale and store management. This will help make the business process smoother and more efficient, particularly for medium sized companies.
Allan Davies, Aldata’s chief marketing officer, said, “We believe the combination of Aldata’s specialist retail capability and Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail provides a fast and flexible way for midsize retailers to gain new cost, inventory and service benefits at low risk and low total cost of ownership.”
Microsoft Dynamics AX will also have multilanguage, multicurrency, and multilegislative features, which makes it ideal for global companies that need to communicate with employees in different countries.
Crispin Read, the general manager of Microsoft Dynamics ERP, commented on the product. He said, “The agreement with Aldata demonstrates the ability of Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail to provide a solid, scalable foundation for the retail environment. Aldata’s deep experience in the retail sector, as well as a delivery and support organization around the globe, help bring the benefits of Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail to retailers worldwide.”
Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail will be first be offered in Finland. By Aug. 1, 2010, it will be available in 16 countries. The product will be sold in additional countries next year.
