Lotus, CFT Consulting, IBM and National Computer Introduce Complete Process Management Solution for Retailers
Domino-Powered Solutions Run on Netfinity Servers; Provide Full Set of Workflow and Communications Tools for Retail Business Processes
Cambridge, MA (October 05, 1998) – Lotus Development Corp., CFT Consulting, IBM and National Computer today announced the availability of a complete process management solution for retailers on IBM Netfinity servers running Windows NT. The solution is a pre-configured suite of intranet applications that utilizes the Web to automate and streamline retail business activities such as store reporting, product development and new store openings. The offering includes all the software, hardware, technical support and system integration services needed to quickly and cost-effectively deploy a first-class, Web-based retail business process management system. The solution will be deployed and serviced by National Computer; CFT will provide the consulting services.
A complete process management solution for retailers, the offering comprises eSTORE, a set of retail management applications for managing store-wide processes including messaging, electronic forms, Human Resources, policies and procedures and reports. eStore was developed by Lotus Premium Business Partner, Tomax Technologies. Also included in the offering is CFT Consulting’s BISTRO (TM), a Web-based process management tool for streamlining and proactively managing unstructured enterprise-focused business activities such as product development and new store openings.
eSTORE and BISTRO are designed to leverage Lotus Domino, a platform that enables partners and customers to deploy integrated, collaborative solutions that help turn business information into knowledge. IBM’s Intel-processor-based Netfinity servers round out the solution, providing a reliable, highly scaleable, enterprise-wide process management platform and the system management tools necessary to proactively maintain and control the network.
“Together with our business partners, Lotus and IBM are helping retailers redefine their business and communications processes,” said Dave Laverty, vice president, North American Marketing Group, Lotus Development Corp. “Working with CFT Consulting, IBM and National Computer, we’ve created an innovative all-in-one solution that enables retailers to streamline their processes and address business issues. Domino-based, the solution allows retailers to save time and money by creating a comprehensive and affordable communications and workflow infrastructure.”
“Through IBM’s ServerProven program, this offering has been tailored to provide optimal performance for retailers’ mission-critical process management applications on the Netfinity platform,” said Kate Connolly, director, Netfinity Server Proven Solution Program. “Retailers purchasing the solution can view these configurations directly on the IBM Web site, a feature that provides an added level of confidence in the solution’s performance and ability to scale and deploy easily.”
“We are pleased to be a part of this very important program,” said Bruce Ash, former Talbot’s CIO and current principal of Business Development, at CFT Consulting. “The benefits for the retailer are considerable and will enable them to streamline backoffice efficiency and achieve cost-effective, web-based process management.”
