ISPs Participating in Beta Program Offer Electronic Commerce Solution and Services to Small and Medium Businesses
N/A (December 01, 1998) – IBM* today announced that the IBM Net.Commerce* Hosting Server solution will be generally available on the Windows NT** and AIX platforms on December 18, 1998 and Sun Solaris** platform on January 29, 1999. The price of the IBM Net.Commerce Hosting Server is $12,499 for the first processor and includes 5 merchant licenses; $9,999 for each additional processor; $499 for a single merchant license; and $450 per license for 50 merchants. Additional volume discounts are available for higher volumes.
IBM Net.Commerce Hosting Server is a solution for helping Internet Service Providers (ISPs) deliver a full-range of hosted electronic commerce services for the smallest to largest businesses. Using this integrated software package, ISPs can set-up and operate full-service, low-maintenance, hosted electronic commerce services for multiple sellers in a shared commerce server environment.
Many organizations that serve the small and medium business market, such as publishers, consultants, affiliations and Web portal providers, are also partnering with Internet Service Providers to offer branded, hosted electronic commerce solutions. The IBM Net.Commerce Hosting Server allows small and medium businesses without the internal expertise or resources to quickly establish a secure electronic commerce solution that can be readily extended and enhanced with premium options.
