SANTA CLARA, CA (December 15, 1998) – Encanto Networks, Inc., the leading provider of small business web servers, and IBM today announced an agreement to provide integrated Internet access services for users of Encanto’s e.go and e.go Commerce web servers.
The agreement extends and improves Encanto’s InstantConnect service coverage in the United States and benefits customers with fast, reliable connections to the Internet. The seamless integration of IBM Internet Connection Services, provided by IBM Global Services, with Encanto’s e.go web servers provides small businesses with a complete solution for Website hosting, Internet access, e-mail and e-commerce.
Encanto’s e.go and e.go Commerce are all-in-one Internet appliances that offer versatile web server functionality, security firewall, and easy-to-use software tools for Website creation and maintenance. Both products offer unlimited e-mail accounts and Encanto’s InstantConnect service, a unique service providing both Internet access and Website connection services. e.go Commerce additionally provides the most complete Internet commerce solution available today, including quick storefront and catalog creation, merchant account setup, and secure payment processing.
InstantConnect Services in the United States will utilize IBM Internet Connection Services to provide more than 500 local dial-in numbers for e.go users. These local dial-in numbers will be integrated into the Encanto’s InstantConnect Service e.go installation program for a highly simplified, “one click” setup process for Internet access. With this agreement, Encanto customers can also take advantage of IBM’s Internet access points for remote access to their e.go web server for reading e-mail and updating their web sites.
“IBM Internet Connection Services, well known for its high quality and world-class support, will provide enormous value to e.go users, ” said Bob Frankenberg, president and CEO of Encanto Networks, Inc. “We are delighted to be working with IBM Global Services and expect this to be the first step in a long relationship that produces additional benefits for small businesses.”
“Encanto’s easy-to-use web server products coupled with our award-winning Internet access service offers a complete solution to help enable a small business to become an e-business quickly and affordably,” said Jim Goetz, director of telecommunications for network services at IBM Global Services. “We are very pleased to be working with leaders in small business solutions like Encanto.”
